We have a few woods scattered across our farms. This time of year it is a real pleasure to take time out and venture in them to watch them come to life post their winter hibernation. This wood at Hare Farm is surrounded by fields full of sheep and lambs. Inside, it is a peaceful haven, and the primroses look beautiful. In a couple of weeks, its carpet will turn blue with bluebells in bloom.
Another of the woods is close to the “groaning bridge” in Brede, where many an old folks tale has been told. Established old trees are dotted between reeds and sheep grazing. This copse is another quiet spot on the farm with lots of visual interest.
