Soldier Lands, GU3
As an ex military site, Soldier Lands offers a very unique setting for film and photography with its rugged and desolate landscape, wartime buildings, derelict areas and sense of abandonment, all within easy reach of London being just over 10 miles from the M25.
Within the secure compound area you can find wartime towers, radio masts, a container park, workshops, a scrapyard, modern office buildings and even a working satellite station with inside access to the command centre. Rows upon rows of machinery and vehicles line the yard; from old cars, jeeps and trucks to army tanks and lorries.
The European-looking forest with its dense areas of towering evergreen pine and birch trees, open out onto open barren scrubland, marshes and heather-covered grassland, where cattle graze and natural ponds and streams form. With extensive hardstanding, large open areas and a network of tracks and tarmac roadways, Soldier Lands can also make the ideal place for driving scenes too.
