Firedown Farm, BN1

Firedown Farm is the only privately-owned farm within the Devil’s Dyke area, and is very well-set to host film crews of all scales. The iconic steep and deep valley landscape and panoramic views set this farm location apart from all others.

Boasting 300+ acres of extraordinary natural landscape set within the longest, steepest, driest valley location on the edge of the South Downs, Firedown Farm is mainly a grassland farm grazed by its herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle. The farmyard is set up towards the ridge, and the fields sweep up and down, all around. There are in fact 3 different valley settings to choose from and its 100 acre field with clear horizons and sweeping gradients was the film set for the only UK location of Gladiator II.

  • 300+ acres of iconic valley landscape with 3 valleys and huge vistas
  • Abandoned  Victorian railway line through enclosed cuttings
  • Farmyard with old and modern buildings
  • Iron-age fort at the very top of the farm
  • A herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle and an emu
