Located on the border of Kent and Sussex, Anchor Lands has wide-ranging views across the Rother Levels and Romney Marsh showcasing stunning shifting light and big blue skies. The weather-boarded farmhouse sits right on the edge of the River Rother, built from recycled materials gathered across the the county and beyond: from grand London homes to Rye’s old victorian sea walls. This eclectic mix is also reflected in the surrounding landscape dotted with vintage finds all available as quirky props, multiple rusting classic cars to ancient farming machinery alongside quirky ramshackled buildings hidden around the grounds, including a victorian brick shepherds hut and overgrown WW2 gun emplacement. Anchor Lands also has rare direct access to the riverbank with 40 moorings and boats providing an unusual, but distinctive setting. Anchor Lands provides an off beat and eccentric backdrop filled with curious finds for filming and photoshoots that require something out of the ordinary.

FACILITIES AT THE LOCATION

The house can be at the crew’s disposal as a day crew base and overnight ‘shoot and stay’ by prior arrangement.  There is plenty of hardstanding and grass parking available on site.

Catering can be arranged for small shoots and there are also numerous delivery options from nearby Rye.

There are also several B&B and self catering options in Rye and the local vicinity.

GETTING TO ANCHOR LANDS

Fast trains go from St Pancras to Ashford International, then change for Rye. The location is a 10 minute car journey from Rye or 30 minutes from Ashford International.

Travel time to Central London is approx. 1.5-2hrs by car.
