Farm Locations exists to support landowners through their journey to making a success of it.
Since our founder, Jo Thompson, set up Farm Locations in 2015, we’ve been assisting hundreds of landowners to make a go of hosting film and photo shoot crews on their land. From huge feature films to TV ads, high end fashion shoots to music videos, we’ve helped arrange all sorts of productions on UK soil. The range of backdrops in demand for film, TV and photo shoots is wide and varied, and we are here to give landowners the confidence and tools to grasp the opportunity and enjoy the Action!
The FOLD is our curated, closely nurtured collection of up to 250 locations.
If deemed a suitable addition to the Fold, we will become your appointed locations agent and will look after you end to end: from promoting the property and managing enquiries, to securing hires and doing the important admin. You can then focus on the hosting.
By joining the FOLD, you’ll know the detail is done, and you can then have the fun. The collection of locations is kept purposefully small in the FOLD, so the personal service stays true .

I’m a farmer’s daughter and farmer’s wife, tasked with helping my own family farm to look at additional ways to bring in an income.
This is how it all started for me. My brother farmed whilst I sought out diversification opportunities. And back in 2015 I secured my first photo shoot through Instagram. One shoot led to another (TV shows, TV commercials, photo shoots) and fast forward to 2024, I’m now helping hundreds of landowners across the UK to enjoy success stories too.
We offer a service that helps farmers, small holders, estate managers, family members of the farm, advisors, and all manner of other rural landowners who are custodians of their own slice of rural Britain.
