Tweed Estate, TD12

Lying on the Scottish Borders, Tweed Estate spans an undulating landscape of parkland, grass fields, wild meadows, ancient woodland and a mix of farmland including wheat, barley and vegetable crops. Bounded by the River Tweed, excellent waterside access is on offer along the river as well as down by the estate’s own fishing lake too.

Sitting at the heart, with the historic herd of Highland cattle grazing nearby, is the grand Manor house, which opens its door to interior hire as well as the grounds. The formal gardens and grounds offer stretches of lawn, entwining pathways, a stunning rhododendron wood and a large walled garden with greenhouse, raised beds and wild flower area.

Many other properties can be found dotted across the estate, many of which are available for exterior use including farmhouses, cottages and bungalows. Comprising four working farmyards, and a traditional 1900 stable courtyard, there’s plenty of farm buildings available for hire too; from modern barns and stores to historic kennels, stabling and some original stone outbuildings.

FACILITIES AT THE ESTATE

The estate has excellent crew facilities, with plenty of parking for vehicles and crew base options depending where crew will be located. There is a cafe in the estate’s commercial courtyard area, which has its own toilet facilities, and available by crew depending on requirements.

The onsite cafe and farm shop can provide refreshments by prior arrangement, with alternative catering facilities found within 2 miles of the estate with a supermarket, cafes and pub locally.

There are two holiday cottages located at Tweed Estate; a two bedroom property and a one bedroom property, which crew are welcome to use for overnight stay if available. There are further B&Bs, self-catering accomodation and a pub with rooms, within 2 miles of the estate.

GETTING TO TWEED ESTATE

Trains run from London to Berwick-upon-Tweed station (4 hours journey time). The esrare is approximately a 30 minute drive from the station.

The estate is approximately a 1 hour car journey from Edinburgh and a 1 hour 15 mins from Newcastle.

Central London is approxmately 7 hours by car.
